Manager – Enterprise Connectivity at Safaricom Kenya
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Enterprise Projects Delivery and Customer Fulfillment the position holder will lead a projects team in planning, designing and building of proper and sound access technologies for Enterprise connectivity as well as to provide 2nd level technical support leadership for Enterprise Access network to ensure 99.99% Enterprise Access service uptime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, design and build proper and sound access technologies for Enterprise connectivity
- Work in collaboration with other technical teams to ensure timely delivery of Enterprise access infrastructure.
- Generate and Implement innovative and cost-effective access technologies for enterprise business
- Vendor and partners’ coordination and management for effective and timely enterprise infrastructure delivery and actualization of all access solutions to meet the specified designs through to acceptance
- Documentation and process management for all enterprise infrastructure connections and authentic network inventory maintenance
- Conduct and carry out new enterprise solutions trials and eventual adoption of successful solutions
- Carry out optimization works in the existing access enterprise infrastructure hence ensuring capacity is available for continuous business needs.
- Perform support activities on enterprise infrastructure, ensuring network availability and uptime at all times
- Offer 2nd level support for redesigns, network failures and SLA enforcement for solutions partners.Â
- Support ticket resolution on the various tasks involving enterprise access infrastructure.
- Ensure a secure enterprise infrastructure through asset registers, IP management, and user management among other security measures.
- Perform quality control checks on all enterprise access infrastructure to ensure high implementation standards and adhered to and maintained.
- Perform upgrades and modernization of the enterprise access infrastructure to cater for business continuity through a stable network.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified IP /SDWAN Support Engineer with CCNA, or equivalent with university degree from a recognized university.
- 5 years’ experience in technical support and a minimum of three years technical support hands on experience, preferably for an Internet Service provider or equivalent.
- Â BSc Computer Science, or B.Sc. Electrical & electronic engineering, Telecommunication engineering
- Thorough understanding of IPv4Â
- Â Knowledge of Linux/Unix Operating Systems
- IT proficiency skills in MS office suite.
- Knowledge and skills in SDWAN systems, Microwave backhaul systems backed by professional certification.
- Knowledge and Skills on Network Management systems for 5G networks and Point to Point systems.
- At least 2-year hands-on experience on 5G, RF systems, and 5 years for FTTx, Fibre
- Preparation of periodic network reports on network performance.
- Direct involvement in adherence of the laid down methods of procedure.
- Preparation of periodic preventive and corrective fault repairs.
- Understanding of the implications of various scheduled network activities.
- Submission of accurate, timely and relevant information for network expansion and improvement.
- Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to monitor and explain trends and variances
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to analyze processes and systems for enhancement of efficiencies and performance
- Highly computer literate and use of reporting toolsÂ
- Ability to relate well with both internal and external customers and work in teams
- Skills and ability to train others and enhance their skills and competencies
