We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design and Estimation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and estimating costs for various engineering projects. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed engineering designs based on project specifications and requirements.
  • Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints using CAD software.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to refine designs and resolve design issues.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Maintain a database of historical cost data and update it regularly to reflect current market conditions.
  • Identify and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss design and estimation-related issues and provide technical expertise.
  • Ensure timely completion of design and estimation tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Prepare detailed reports, including cost analysis, risk assessment, and design validation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of design changes, cost estimates, and project documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and contractors to obtain necessary information and clarify requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
  • 12+ years of experience in design and estimation
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques, principles, and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
