Job Description

We are a sub-national Human Rights Not-for-profit founded as a response to the dictates of the 2010 Kenyan Constitutional dispensation. Based at the Coast of Kenya, our mission is to promote people-centered justice, human rights, and the rule of law to dignify people’s lives and help build more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities at the Swahili Coast of Kenya.
We are seeking to fill the role of HR Associate positions to be stationed in our various offices in Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi Counties.

The Human Resource Associate’s responsibilities shall be as follows;

  • Assist the HR Manager in research on any policy formulation process and review
  • Assist the HR Manager in responding to staff inquiries regarding the department HR policies and HR related matters.
  • Assist the Human Resource Manager in Planning and sensitizing staff on at least three key human resource policies on quarterly basis;
  • Ensure that the spirit and tenets of all organization policies and regulations are adhered to and upheld.
  • Assist the Human Resource Manager in screening potential employee’s resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to in organizations job vacancies.
  • Communicate with all applicants on the organizations platforms to keep them engaged and assist in completing the application process within the prescribed timelines.
  • Assist the HR Manager in coordinating new hire orientations
  • Assist the Human Resource Manager to Prepare, review and update all staff job descriptions and ensure all are printed and signed;
  • Assist the Human Resource Manager to prepare and manage the organization’s annual staff leave register
  • In consultation with the Human Resource Manager make continuous follow up and ensure implementation of all Organizations Capacity concerns raised periodically by donors.
  • Assisting the HR Manager in gathering market salary information
  • Assist the HR Manager in planning and conducting exit interviews
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Minimum qualifications and competencies

  • At least a diploma in Human Resource Management or any other related eld
  • Have an understanding of Kenya Labour Law and practices
  • Familiar with productivity tools such as Google work-space, Microsoft ofce, virtual platforms such as Zoom;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand, process and document information
  • At least 1 year experience in any organization as a Human Resource Officer
  • Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills
  • Should be willing, ready and able to perform other duties as delegated by the supervisor while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be flexible and can do approach to tasks and ability to adapt to a changing and challenging environment.
