Lead Actuarial Analyst/Actuary – Pricing and Insight Team

Overview:

My client is looking for a Lead Actuarial Analyst/Actuary, orchestrating the pricing strategies for there Financial Lines and Specialty portfolio€”a robust £300 million business catering to Professional Indemnity, D&O, Casualty, Cyber, and global Chemical Property/Motor segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Oversight:
    • Collaborate seamlessly with underwriting, claims, and external partners to fortify the commitment to long-term profitability.
  2. Analytical Leadership:
    • Provide pivotal actuarial support across all facets of the business, leveraging a team of three Pricing Analysts.
  3. Pricing Precision:
    • Deliver and maintain pricing and reserving solutions across diverse underwriting lines.
  4. Insightful Communication:
    • Identify trends and insights, presenting findings coherently to key stakeholders.
  5. Performance Evaluation:
    • Gauge the impact of underwriting actions, rate changes, renewal retention, and business acquisition/loss.
  6. Business Planning Expertise:
    • Support the business planning process through meticulous loss ratio projection and analysis.
  7. Efficiency Enhancement:
    • Identify operational opportunities to enhance the efficiency of business processes.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or related field.
  • Progress towards FIA qualification, though not mandatory.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (SQL, Python).
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional teamwork within an open and collaborative structure.
  • Strong organizational skills, meeting targets and deadlines.
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills to navigate complex situations internally and externally.
