Royal Media Services Limited is seeking to recruit a highly qualified person for the above position.
The job holder will be responsible developing suitable content to enhance online presence of the vernacular stations, engage with audience, and promote the company’s brand.
The Social Media Officer’s role will include the following:-
- Develop and curate engaging and shareable content for social media platforms.
- Ensure brand consistency in all social media content.
- Ensure content meets ethical and editorial standards before distribution on platforms
- Increase brand awareness through creative content development
- Collaborate with the marketing and commercial team to align social media efforts and handle client needs on the digital platforms.
- Monitor and Engage with the online community on their feedback, suggestions and leads
- Utilize analytics tools to track and analyze social media performance.
- Provide regular reports on the performance of the online vernacular platforms
- Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns, ensuring timely and coordinated efforts.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance campaign effectiveness and audience reach.
- Cross-promote the company’s online & traditional product line
- Ensure all social media platforms are updated regularly
- Advise supervisor on new trends in online tools, applications, channels, design & strategy
- Execute & monitor clients’ social media communication campaigns
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Must have excellent spoken and writing skills in Kalenjin, Kamba, Kiembu, Ameru, or Swahili cha Kijomba
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Understand Media Laws & Media Ethics
- Must be self-driven, assertive, punctual & organized
- Must be social media savvy, innovative & creative
- Must be a team player, dynamic & able to work under demanding circumstances
- Must have a working knowledge of online technology and online news best practices and an appreciation of the business processes, protocols and controls
- Demonstrate professional approach and appearance including enthusiasm, drive, commitment, honesty, trust and loyalty
- Keep abreast of evolving trends through continuing professional education in the area of digital platforms
Academic and professional Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Communication, Media or a related field from a recognized institution
- Demonstrated capacity in managing social media accounts
- Two (2) years’ experience working either as a journalist, Social Media Executive
