Software Support Engineer duties and responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance with computer software
- Resolve issues for customers via phone, in-person, or remotely
- Log bugs and enhancement requests
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of RDBMS
- Perform software installations, configurations, and updates as needed
- Provide training
- Resolve technical issues in a timely manner and in accordance with the SLA
Software Support requirements and skills
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field from a recognized institution
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking skills, and data analytical skills.
- Previous experience in software support for 5 years, MUST be with retail point-of-sale software(s) with finance and accounting modules.
- Demonstrable Strong knowledge of RDBMS ( MSSQL, MSSQL, Postgres, Mysql)
- Knowledge of IPv4 networking.
- Knowledge of Reporting tools such as crystal and jasper reports is a plus
- A clear understanding of the Software development life Cycle.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 7,10,11, server Operating systems
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix OS is desired but not a requirement.
