On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Supply Chain Manager to work in Nairobi, Kenya.

Job Summary:

The client is looking for an outgoing and dynamic Supply Chain Manager. In this position, you will oversee and optimise the end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products within the Company. Your strategic leadership will be vital in enhancing supply chain processes, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s competitiveness, efficiency, and ability to meet customer demands, requiring a proactive and strategic approach to supply chain management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic supply chain initiatives aligned with organizational goals, ensuring optimal procurement, production, and distribution strategies.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of goods.
  • Inventory Optimization: Analyse inventory levels, demand forecasts, and lead efforts to optimize inventory management, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring sufficient supply.
  • Logistics Management: Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes to streamline logistics operations, reduce lead times, and optimize costs.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the supply chain, and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, shortages, and quality issues, by implementing robust risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, finance, and manufacturing to align supply chain strategies with business objectives and customer demand.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supply chain performance, analyse trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications can be advantageous.
  • Proven experience of 5 years in supply chain management, with a track record of implementing successful supply chain strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive process improvements and optimize supply chain operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, logistics, and inventory management best practices.
