Key roles and responsibilities
- Work effectively with clients across multiple sectors and tax domain experts to develop and enhance tax technology solutions.
- Assist in the development of a work plan, budget, and quality plan to ensure efficiency, high performance, and high-quality work on engagements.
- Build an understanding of client business and markets to assist in the development of client relationships and developing a commercial mindset on how work performed impacts profitability at the engagement and practice levels.
- Supervise staff level engagement team in the field. Direct and review the work product of associates and provides direction and training as necessary.
- Ensure risk management through completion of risk management documents and ensure they are approved accordingly.
- Managing own and your team’s learning and development by identifying learning needs and taking appropriate steps to address these.
- Ongoing improvement of our tax technology solutions.
- Assist with data acquisition from disparate systems and in different formats including web, databases and excel.
- Perform data analyses, generate, and test hypotheses using Machine Learning and statistical analysis methods to identify patterns and communicate findings via visualization tools.
- Document technical procedures and best practices.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up to date with tax regulations and technology trends.
Academic/Professional qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance, statistics, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university.
- Professional qualifications e.g., ACCA, CPA are highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and performing internet research.
- A minimum of four years of experience working with tax data and tax technology.
- Skills, and comfort interacting with C-level professionals
- Excellent structuring and tax advisory skills.
- Demonstrated ETL solution design and build expertise, and work stream management skills.
- Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, NumPy, MatLab, etc.
- Deep knowledge/experience in statistics, data mining, machine learning, and/or natural language processing.
- At least 2 years working experience designing automation solutions.
