How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Perform MPBN performance and optimization activities to ensure network KPI’s are maintained and/or improved on agreed thresholds. This will include retrieving of reports, analysis and presentations. Raising issue to relevant Teams to fix any Dips and improvements.
•  Will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and daily checks of the MPBN and Packet Core Nodes as well as trouble shooting, resolving and escalating to support any issues within the MPBN and Packet Core Network timily. 
•  Support in co-design, implementation and deployment of the ancillary networks that surround the MPBN Network – IPRAN, CS Core, RAN, IN, Packet Core among others. 
•  Assign, Update and maintain Network IP Planning document. 
•  Performance of periodic Preventive Maintenance activities on MPBN and Packet Core nodes. 
•  Determine correlation- dependencies between Applications- Packet Core – RAN KPIs (Radio Access Network) – Handsets as well as the IP transport Network. 
•  Performing Software and Hardware updates and upgrades on MPBN nodes. 
•  Follow-up, tracing & verification of MPBN Work Orders execution. 
•  Preparation and Validation of Incident report and Root Cause Analysis for MPBN incidents 
•  Verification and followup for timely closure of domain TTs and CR’s. 
•  Participate in Emergency handling. 
•  Customer Interface for MPBN and Provide local domain support to TSG (1st Level Engineering Team) and NOC 
•  Spare and inventory management for MPBN nodes. 
•  Review of daily Health checks, Active alarms & hardware fault reports for MPBN nodes and reported by NOC and proactively and Enhance the process. 
•  Working closely with Third Parties to ensure improved customr Experiences 

Secondary Roles

Staff needs to fulfill the following additional requirement:

•  Participation in Weekly Core Review meetings both Local and with Customer 
•  Review of domain CSR’s/Care/Support tickets with the Equipment Vendors. 
•  Review and participation in weekly review of Health Checks and Preventive Maintenance scripts for MPBN/PACO nodes. 
•  Planning of new Nodes/Sites implementation for MPBN/PACO domain. 
•  Verification and followup for Backup trackers for MPBN/PACO domain. 
•  Support Ericsson Packet Core requirements if required. 
•  Create PowerPoint and Graphing representations of MPBN KPIs, Interface Utilization and System Utilization on a Weekly basis 
•  Support of new MPBN nodes – ATPs, Security AT, VA Scan issues closure. 
•  CR presentation in CMB (Change Management Board), CR creation in ITSM online tool and follow up for approval until closure 
•  To support Other Vendors (Packet Core, BSC & RNC, HLR, HSS, MSC, IT, IN-CS) network if required 
•  On Job training for New Staff, NOC staff among others. 

Key Skills And Experience

•  Bachelors’ in Engineering/Computer Science/ with 6 -10 Yrs of experience or above 
•  Strong IP skills. Professional Certification level ideal. (Cisco CCNP, Nokia NRS 1, Juniper JNCIP) 
•  Extensive multi-vendor experience in Routers, Switches and Firewalls maintenance and configuration as well as a good understanding of 3GPP interfaces and call flows. 
•  At least 2 years experience in Unix/Linux administration as well as integration and support experience in 2G/3G/4G/5G data technologies.
