Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • Lead in the formulation of the organizations long terms strategy as well as oversee the implementation of the same within set timelines.
  • Ensure compliance and implementation of Board resolutions.
  • Ensure the preparation and implementation of annual work plans, procurement plans, budgets, Performance Contract, goals and objectives.
  • Prudently manage the Funds resources within budget guidelines according to the organizational policies and government laws and regulations.
  • Ensure maintenance of effective internal/external controls so as to safeguard the Funds assets and oversee financial audit processes as required.
  • Responsible for providing leadership in the development, execution and achievement of the Funds strategic objectives.
  • Ensure prudent financial management, and administer with due care, the institutions assets and liabilities.
  • Facilitate development and implementation of appropriate human resource policies and practices that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
  • Build effective relationships with the Board, government, regulators, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Enforce a culture of regulatory compliance, good corporate governance and adherence to guidelines in place.
  • Engagement with stakeholders to enhance the corporate image of the Fund.
  • Promotion of entrepreneurship and high performing investment ventures.
  • Responsible for the Procurement function of the Fund as per the Public Procurement and Disposal Act.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, the job holder must have:

  • Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines; in Economics/Finance or in a Business related field from a recognized University/institution.
  • Masters Degree in Economics/Finance or in a Business related field from a recognized University/institution.
  • Senior Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks and Strategic Leadership Development course lasting at least six (6) weeks.
  • At least fifteen (15) years experience in public or private sector employment, Ten (10) of which must be at a senior management level in a reputable organization.
  • Membership to a relevant professional Body and be in good standing.
  • Meet the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
