Healthy Entrepreneurs (HE) is a social enterprise based in Uganda. The organization has similar activities in Tanzania, Kenya, DRC, Burkina Faso, and Burundi. HE specializes in the implementation of last mile distribution models of reliable products and information that enhance health and the quality of life for people living in hard to reach and remote areas.

HE aims to contribute to solve social issues and improve access to basic health commodities and services by developing and implementing sound commercial business models. HE is implementing its franchise model via 13000 Community Health Entrepreneurs (our customers) in 60 districts of Uganda today. Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will support the country offices in the development, improvement and maintenance of their data practices. Given the growing area of data analytics within the company, s/he will be working closely with the Global leadership, Country Managers, Sales Manager, IT Manager and/or the Performance, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead.

Healthy Entrepreneurs is moving to use data more critically, in our routine and strategic management decisions. Due to the large volume of data collected in our ERP system (Odoo), patient system (ClickMedix) and call center management system (Xcally), Healthy Entrepreneurs needs improved cross-sectional reports. To that end, you will perform data management and analytical work and complete high-priority projects across an array of domains and subject matter.

In addition, you will be an active member of the internal team, contributing to internal knowledge sharing, best practice development and team engagement. This is a great opportunity to use your existing data analysis skills, while growing your capabilities within diverse departments of a rapidly expanding organization.

The main tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective data management practices within Healthy Entrepreneurs
  • Provide business insight to organization, its management, and various departments, based on effective and reliable data collection, interpretation and presentation.
  • Map, assess and analyze the current data practices and collections.
  • Maintain and ensure accurate and cleaned data points (such as KOBO / PowerBI / Teams / Odoo)
  • Ensure smooth and correct collection, storage, and management of data, among others by formulating clear policies,training employees, and monitor compliance.
  • To monitor, develop, share, and improve Power BI reports.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of analytics projects including routine departmental reports and developed integrated management reports.
  • To utilize and suggest improved reporting tools in managing and monitoring business, progress, and growth.
  • Provide innovative analytical insights to various departments (sales, supply chain, health services, finance), liaise closely with leadership team, country operations, departmental managers, and international PMEL roles/researchers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and document potential data sources in support of project requirements.
  • Ensure that data analysis processes are properly implemented and documented to improve transparency and for future references.
  • Create data visualizations to effectively convey findings using SPSS, Kobo, Teams, Power BI and Excel
  • Present and document data analysis results in a clear and concise manner
  • Present data analysis findings to project teams, stakeholders or clients whenever requested by management.
  • Participate and report operational meetings on (inter)national level with other HE staff members;
  • Any other ad hoc activities that are related to the implementation when needed.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years of analytical experience in Business, Sales, and Operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, QlikSense, QGIS, R Shiny Dashboard or Tableau.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite –Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including Macros, VBA, Power Pivot and Power Query.
  • Advanced knowledge of data collection methods and packages such as KOBO, ODK

Added advantage for those with:

  • Experience or expertise with at least one data analysis software package such as IBM SPSS Statistics, R, Python or Stata.
  • Experience or expertise with statistical methods that includes descriptive and inferential statistics.

  • Practical knowledge of data manipulation, mining, visualization, and statistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Finance, Business analytics or related degree.
  • Fluency in English is required.
