Job Description/Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure tax compliance by preparing and filing tax returns, including VAT returns, and staying updated on relevant tax regulations.
  • Maintain statutory books, prepare annual returns, and facilitate company meetings.
  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Liaise with clients, colleagues, and third parties to gather required financial information and resolve any accounting-related queries.
  • Meet all filing deadlines for financial reports, tax returns, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports with detailed analysis of financial performance, highlighting key insights and trends.
  • Supervise and actively participate in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Conduct internal audits to review accounting and administrative controls, identify areas of improvement, and ensure compliance with internal policies
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures, including timekeeping, payroll, inventory, and property management.Perform any additional assigned duties related to finance and accounting as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field, with CPA(K) / ACCA certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant role, preferably in accounting and finance.
  • Demonstrated professionalism with a track record of successful leadership and management.
  • Exhibits confidence, flexibility, and enthusiasm in handling responsibilities and adapting to changes.
  • Exceptional communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Presents themselves in a presentable, courteous, and polite manner, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
  • Must be amenable to work Mondays to Fridays, from 10:00 am to 08:00 pm.
